Dear Patients,

Since the autumn of 2014, we have been providing evening and weekend appointments both at KLMC, and at a Hub service in Headingley as part of a scheme that was funded by NHS Leeds West CCG. Regrettably, from April 2017 the funding for this service will be withdrawn and we will need to reduce our services as a result.

We have as a group of practices in Leeds West, secured funding from NHS England to continue our evening and weekend services, however the funding offered is much less than we have previously received. The reduction in funding is around 60%.

What will change?

  • Evening appointments will be delivered from a Hub service at Burley Park Medical Centre
  • Weekend appointments will move from our Headingley Hub, and will be hosted at Hyde Park Surgery (Saturdays) and Burley Park Medical Centre (Sundays)
  • There will be fewer appointments available in line with the reduced funding
  • We have introduced an early morning session to give greater flexibility to patients, appointments will now be available from 7am on Thursday mornings.

Whilst we are very sad to lose so much of the funding for these services, we are happy to be able to maintain our 12hrs per day, 7 days per week service if only on a reduced basis. We know this will have an impact on our patients' ability to get an appointment that is convenient to them, but we are doing all we can to make sure that the services we offer are available to those who need them, when they need them.

Please contact our practice manager if you have any queries regarding these changes:

Kindest regards,

Dr Richards, Dr Miller, Dr Chauhan
