Important Information for Patients Living Outside the Practice Boundary
We understand that some of our patients may have moved home and now live outside our practice boundary. We are happy to continue caring for many of these patients where it is safe and clinically appropriate to do so.
However, we would like to make you aware of the following important limitations and responsibilities:
1. No Home Visit Eligibility
If you live outside the practice boundary, you are not eligible for home visits. This is in line with NHS England guidance. Should you require a home visit in the future, you will need to contact NHS 111 for further support, as we will be unable to attend your home.
2. Clinical Reviews and Face-to-Face Care
To ensure safe and effective care, some medical issues require face-to-face assessment, physical examination, or ongoing monitoring at the surgery.
If you live too far away to attend the practice for these necessary appointments, and instead rely solely on telephone or online consultations, we may not be able to provide the standard of care that we consider safe and clinically appropriate.
In such cases, we may advise you to register with a GP practice closer to your home, where you can more easily access the care you need.
3. Clinical Safety and Fairness
Each case is considered individually by a GP. Decisions are based on:
- The nature of your ongoing health needs
- The ability to safely manage your care without regular in-person reviews
- Any concerns regarding delays or missed diagnoses due to remote-only consultations
If we believe that continued registration is not in your best clinical interest, we will contact you directly to explain our concerns and provide appropriate notice and support.
